Indoor Air Aware delivers a breakthrough for 25% of the UK population!

Did you know, 25% of people are biologically predisposed to life-changing mould / biotoxin illness, but that is not yet recognised by the NHS? This is not an allergy - this is inflammatory illness - it takes over the entire body and ruins lives.

Those who have the strength to seek a diagnosis are often misdiagnosed with 'unexplained medical symptoms' or 'Functional Neurological Disorder', 'Fibromyalgia' or 'Chronic Fatigue Syndrome'.

Considering only 0.5% of adults have a peanut allergy (which we all know about!) it really puts this issue into perspective.

For the FIRST TIME, mould illness sufferers can finally be heard!

Below is a screengrab of a letter that I have researched and written, with support of one the the UK's leading environmental illness doctors Dr Minha Rajput-Ray. Lisa Malyon, Founder of not-for-profit organisation Indoor Air Aware comments on the breakthrough: "In countries where citizens are required to pay for their medical services, inflammatory mould illness is a recognised, diagnosed and treated. The severity and complexity caused by exposure to the mould / biotoxins / mycotoxins releases by water-damaged buildings is taken extremely seriously in these countries - a bit like asbestos here in the UK. "I will continue to campaign and support this HUGE at-risk group until inflammatory biotoxin illness is recognised, diagnosed and treated here in the UK by the NHS. "To prevent those at risk, I will lobby for safer housing for this group, which may result in rethinking how we build homes - 100% dry homes, where any water-related infrastructure is in a different building that cannot impact the safe, dry living space."

The editable version of the letter is available upon request - please email Lisa@indoorairaware.co.uk - the letter will be provided to those who can prove they have one of the two predispositions to mould illness.

Don't yet have a diagnosis? We are working on another letter for GPs, for those with suspected mould-related illness to take to their GP. This letter will guide the GP through how to help the patient through diagnosis and recovery.

So far, 96 people have completed the mould illness survey - ideally we need a minimum of 250 as a next step: www.indoorairaware.co.uk/healthsurvey.
